Why go through all this "trouble" for one Emulator? This is why: 1. WinUAE is by far the best Amiga Emulator around. 2. Amiga Emulation on WolfMess (Currently only system useable for Amiga Competition) is not working properly. 3. When competing on WolfMess, we can't compete on games with multiple disks. Using WinUAE, we can compete on games with up to 4 disks, which opens up for competition on a lot of great games. You are of course also allowed to use WinUAE if it's a one disk game only :) 1. Zip up the INP, LOG and USS files that where created when making the recording. *DO NOT INCLUDE THE ADF FILES THAT WERE CREATED* 2. Upload the file to a file service, like those mentioned above. 3. Now submit your score on HARP as usual, but instead of uploading a ZIP file including your recording, you must upload a zipped TXT file including the following informations: HARP Username: ? Game: ? WinUAE Version: ? Score: ? Link to recording: ? Now other players know where to download it. If you have keept the recording online for a year, you are allowed to delete it, if you like, as most users would have watched it if they were interested, and I would have confirmed it by then. Please mention in the comments box, that you have deleted it. I'll also download all recordings to keep, so that users can request the recordings from me if they like to see any of them. So if the recording is older than one year, I can provide it. You are of course free to keep it online as long as you like. It's not a rule to remove it after a year :) 1. Before starting to play you need to find the right ADF files to be used. If we take an example with Superfrog, the gamename for that game on HARP is: Superfrog [cr CSL] (4 Disks). This tells you who cracked the version you need to download, and how many disks there is, that needs to be downloaded. In this case you need to find, and download: Superfrog (1993)(Team 17)[cr CSL](Disk 1 of 4) Superfrog (1993)(Team 17)[cr CSL](Disk 2 of 4) Superfrog (1993)(Team 17)[cr CSL](Disk 3 of 4) Superfrog (1993)(Team 17)[cr CSL](Disk 4 of 4) 2. Always check if there are some Special Rules that needs to be followed for the game. If Special rules are not followed, your recording will be DQ'ed. The best way to check for Special Rules are to choose: Game List - Tournament: Amiga Regulation Play - Search. Now find the game you want to compete in, and choose Info, and a page comes up on which the Special Rules are included. 3. Now you are ready to fire up WinUAE, and start recording, but remember ALWAYS START FROM SCRATCH by exiting, and restart emulator before enabling recording or playback. 4. Under (HARDWARE/CPU and FPU) the CPU Emulation Speed must always be set to Approximate A500/A1200 or cycle-exact.
Now it stores all the files mentioned above. For you to be able to playback other players recordings, you need to take the disk(s) to the game you want to watch, and put them into the same directory in which you stored the downloaded INP, LOG and USS files. Then you must rename those ADF files. If we take an example using Superfrog again, rename them: Superfrog (1993)(Team 17)[cr CSL](Disk 1 of 4) to Superfrog.inp.Superfrog (1993)(Team 17)[cr CSL](Disk 1 of 4) This is only if the player named his recording Superfrog, if he named his recording sfrog, then the files should be renamed to: sfrog.inp.Superfrog (1993)(Team 17)[cr CSL](Disk 1 of 4) Now you can start the emulator, and start to playback like this:
Now get starting to play. Enjoy :) |
